Secretary-General Eng. Ibrahim Alturki Meets HRH Princess Sarah bint Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Executive Director of the International Date Palm Council

H.E. Eng. Ibrahim Alturki, Secretary General of the Middle East Green Initiative, discussed with HRH Princess Sarah bint Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Executive Director of the International Date Palm Council, avenues of cooperation in date palm and oasis sustainability, water resource efficiency, and linking sustainability with food and economic impact, ahead of signing a joint cooperation agreement.

H.E. Eng. Ibrahim Alturki, Secretary-General of the Middle East Green Initiative, met with H.R.H. Princess Sara bint Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Executive Director of the International Dates Council, on Tuesday, 8 September 2026, at the Council’s headquarters in Riyadh.

The two sides discussed areas of mutual interest and opportunities to benefit from the Council’s expertise in the date palm and dates sector, particularly in the sustainability of date palms and oases, efficient use of water resources, and linking sustainability with food and economic impact. They also agreed to continue coordination toward concluding a cooperation agreement between the two sides.
